From the day I saw the advertisement of "SAVE OUR TIGER" initiative with the 1411 number of tigers ,I was thinking to write a blog on this. Ooh ..!!! you must be thinking that i am gonna write for the Tigers and blah blah things. I would have written on that topic if on the same day West bengal hadn't approved "Rangnath Mishra Commission " to be implemented. I am not against any religion or against the uplifting of the so called backward classes. I am just looking like a futuristic and I can see if this "Rangnath Mishra Commission " and commissions for the ** Depressed Classes ** like "Sachar Committee" and "Mandal Commission- Part-1(implemented in the era of V.P.Singh) and Part-II (implemented by Arjun Singh)" will soon are bringing another Advertisement : "SAVE OUR GENERAL CATEGORY HINDOO's : only 1411 left in India ". I can see you raising you eyebrows but am sure the way its going to happen soon, just as soon as the END OF THE DAYS in 2012 ,may be I will be a Aditya Rahim Khan or Aditya Das or Aditya Dogra(With a certificate that I belong to a backward area: With money in india , its not difficult to buy these kinda labels). The govt or our representatives are making new rules for Reservations for minority(where they are in minority) and for majority(Like in Jammu and Kashmir, where we have nearly 80% reservations in all govt jobs, in medical colleges and in all tenders for them ). Long time back someone told me the defination of the Politician : One who shakes your hand before elections and your Confidence after. .
Cant we have a system where we give free education to all economical suppressed class of people and once we raise them to some level , let them compete with others in open air. These kind of Committees and Commissions are the reasons behind Godhra and Orissa riots and a lot more in future riots . Why we are making someone special based on their caste ,creed or religion ? As I have mentioned in the subject of the Post "Wall don't protect, they isolate you..." , similarly these kind of new bills and rules are not doing good for anyone , they are just isolating them .
It reminded me of the movie "Rang de basanti" , where the Britishers sent a Maulvi to convince Ashfaqulla khan . Maulvi said "Ye hindoo tumhe istemal kar rahe rahe hai" ..
Ashfaqulla khan replied "Hum ne hinduyoon ki nahi Hindoostan ki aazadi ki liye larai cheri hai" ..
That used to be love for the country rather than religion , caste and creed.

Your blog and point of view is so apt.Look who are getting the benefits of these reservations, they are the people with a certificate, who's background is tantamount to any other General category.Besides these reservations keeps people divided and backward always.They keep reminding them "Ooh we r special! We have inferior capabilities and will remain like this forever"...Our country will always remain divided if this goes on.
it reminds me the Narayana Murthy's comment on reservation : "India is the only nation where people fight to get backward rather that forward".
So it means people are happy with current system. (Indeed not all but probability is more). That's why recently i heard in Mayawati's government they are thinking of reservation for Brahmins also... look at this.. where we are heading??? to become a country of backward people?? God only know. Even though we do have lots intellectuals in our country, when it comes social reforms like reservation and providing basic infra structure to the society, "Sub ko saampa soonga leta hai"...

I agree with you my friend. Reservation should be based on the one's economic condition not on caste or creed..Civil code act is the answer to all these but none other than BJP even talk about it....
you are right bro, reservation was necessary during the post independence period for some years to get rid off priestly domination. But what is goin on now, that is totally wrong, everything get politicized & specialized they have extend it upto 2026 by amendments. using it for their votebank, not for equality.
